On the 18th of September a new endeavor to capture internal wave trains was carried out by HabWAVE’s team at the campaign’s fixed station. The last field work at this location was promising, since the “yo-yo” surveys showed what looked like a variation in the thermocline’s depth between successive measurements.
However, sea conditions were not favorable this time: even remote sensing images have failed to detect internal waves’ surface signatures. Take a look below, provided by ESA’s Ocean Data Lab, as well as at a few photos taken by the team on board.
